If you haven’t yet, be sure to check out Skipper Martin’s excellent project “Bizarre New World.” Paul Krutcher is an everyday guy who wakes up to find he has the ability to fly – soon everyone on Earth finds they can fly too! How does that change the world, and how does it change who we are?
Skipper has dropped in a little tip of the hat to all us Star Trek fans too…

So, there’s no terminal velocity in regards to falling through (down?) warp? Then why can’t you go past Warp 10 without going back in time?

  2. Wildride says:

Yeah, that’s not how warp drive “works”. You could describe it as warping space to make the distance smaller than it would be naturally, or it’s not moving the ship through space, but moving the space the ship is in.

But, there wouldn’t really be a ” terminal velocity” in space because it’s a near vacuum and doesn’t have air resistance. But that doesn’t change the fact that the ship would still be limited by the speed of light.

I read the book. It’s really good.
